The bass man in both Dragony and Visions of Atlantis, he has a special fondness for all things Nintendo (and particularly The Legend of Zelda) when he is not busy obtaining his master's degree in computer science at the university of Vienna.

Imposing are both his stature (some say he is more chest than man!) and his high-speed bass playing on his 5- and 6-string bass guitars.

Herb also contributed as a songwriter to the band, having written the track "At Daggers Drawn" for the "Shadowplay" album.
